This term, we started the Dough Disco, which is great fun, but which also helps us develop the muscles we need for our writing!
If you want to practise the Dough Disco at home, our favourites are:

In Foundation, we also began learning our sounds in Phase 2 (the single-lettered sounds), and in Year 1 we went through all of our Phase 3 sounds (double-lettered) to make sure we were really secure with them before moving onto Phase 5 (alternative spellings). We used Education City https://www.educationcity.com/explore/ and lots of us practised at home, too.
In maths, we continued developing our number sense, with counting correctly (one to one correspondence), making up numbers in different ways, and seeing what happens to a number when you add or take away. Year 1s also practised counting in twos, fives and tens, and learnt about place value.
Much of our term was taken up with CHRISTMAS once December arrived! Our classroom hosted Santa`s Workshop, and had Christmas themes running throughout all of our activities, including designing a sleigh, making our names into snowmen, decorating mini Christmas trees, writing to Santa, and making cards and Advent calendars, as well as ordinary calendars for the New Year!
If you would like to see photos of us in our Nativity costumes, please look in the Gallery pages.
