OAK CLASS HOMEWORK - DECEMBER 2018
We have been working on names and addresses this week, linked to Literacy work involving letters to Father Christmas. Please help your child to learn and write their full address, then talk about the town, county and country that make up the address. It is a National Curriculum requirement that they can spell and correctly punctuate (with capital letters) their address by the end of Key Stage 1.
Key Stage One are very busy with Nativity rehearsals. Can we please remind parents that all costumes need to be in by tomorrow, Friday 7th December.
In Literacy this week we have been sharing 'Can't You Sleep Little Bear' and 'Let's Go Home Little Bear' by Martin Waddell.
In Numeracy this week we have been looking at days of the week, months and seasons. Please practise this at home by talking to your child about their birthday, which month it is in and which season does it fall in etc.
On Friday 23rd November we all came into school bringing a bottle in exchange for wearing non-uniform clothes. We are hoping that the bottle tombola and Christmas Market will be a huge success.
CHILDREN IN NEED 2018
Wow! Don't we all look amazing in our reused/recycled items. Thank you to everyone that participated, paid a donation and brought in yummy cakes. All the money raised will go to Children In Need.
On Wednesday 14th November 2018 Elite Sports came into school for the day to do workshops for all classes including Oak class. The children thoroughly enjoyed these activities.
Welcome back to Term 2
On Friday 2nd November we had been thinking about how to stay safe around fireworks. We made a list of firework rules and wrote down some instructions on how to tell people how to use fireworks.
We hope you all have a lovely time if you are watching the fireworks and stay safe!
In Numeracy we have been 'seeing double'! The children have been doing lots of Maths activities doubling money, Numicon and cubes and learning that doubles of whole numbers are ALWAYS even numbers.
