Term 6

Show and Tell - Term 6

We are now at the end of the school year.  Could all children please ensure they bring their reading books and reading records into school by Friday 20th July.  The children also need a large plastic bag with their name on it to take home their work.  Thank you for another brilliant year in Oak Class, have a lovely Summer holiday and we looking forward to seeing everybody in September.

On Wednesday 18th July the Inspire+ team called in to see us whilst on their 200 mile journey.  They shared with us the importance of staying hydrated and set up a challenge to guess how many litres of water they will drink during the journey.  Please check your child's book bag for a letter with further information regarding the challenge.

Den Building Day 2018

Members of Oak and Willow Class teamed up to make a den from school resources, recycled cardboard and table cloths to ensure we had a den to match the constructions made by families who joined us for den building day.  We had some problems to overcome and Oak Class remembered all the tips they had learned on our trip to Fineshade Woods.

We were really proud of our efforts and after decorating the outside we all enjoyed a picnic lunch where even more mums and dads were able to join us.

We had out School Summer Fayre on Saturday 23rd June 2018.  Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and help.  A very special 'Thank You' to Laith's mummy. Jasmin's mummy, Isla's mummy and Finley's mummy for running the Oak Class Lucky Dip stall.  Our stall raised £67 and the whole event raised over £1500 which all goes towards our new trim trail.

We hope you enjoyed the sunny family day as much as we all did!

In Numeracy this week we have been learning all about measuring.  We have been accurately using rulers and metre sticks to measure and we have been using string for curved surfaces.  We have also been solving some measuring problems.  Perhaps we could help you  measure something at home?

On Thursday 7th June we had a very busy afternoon of planting beans, starting our bean diary, decorating a lollipop stick and labelling our plant pots.

We are looking forward to seeing what will happen if we look after them well.
