Wild Touch Birds
This week is Bird Watch Week in school and the children were so excited to be able to see some of the rescue birds brought in by Wild Touch Wildlife Centre. Each class learnt about the habitat and diet of the birds that had been brought in: barn owl, raven, kookaburra, gull, pigeon and kestrel. The barn owl and kookaburra were used to being handled and so everyone was able to touch them and see them up close. Throughout the week the children will be researching different birds and using binoculars around school to identify the different species of birds that visit the feeders around school.
