Term 1

On Thursday 17th October we had a visit from Jim MacCool who is a travelling poet and yarn spinner.  He came into school to perform poetry and music to all classes.  He used his voice to imitate instruments to perform Irish and Scottish songs.  The children really enjoyed joining in with these traditional songs.

A huge well done to Oak Class for performing 'Big Red Combine Harvester' during the Harvest Festival.  The children remembered all the words, actions and performed on stage in front of all the parents who attended.

An extra well done to our Worship Council members Cam and Eva for reciting your lines for our prayer on stage with big clear voices.

Super Work Oak Class!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Bourne Woods this morning.  We went off in small groups, exploring the environment and ticking items off our sheets when we found them.  We then collected lots of items and stuck them onto our sticky strips.  Lastly we made trails for another group, placing flags at interesting points, being able to explain why we left a flag there.

It was cold and muddy in the woods, but we loved it.  We should all sleep well tonight!

This week we have been learning all about our classroom tree, the Oak tree.  We have watched video's about the Oak tree, we went outside to identify different trees and we have labelled a picture of a Oak tree.  We are all looking forward to finding Oak trees when we go to Bourne Woods.
