Keeping our Teeth and Gums Healthy

Today we have learnt the different names and roles of our teeth! We have discussed why we need to look after our teeth and what can happen if we do not brush them every day. Our photos show us using disclosing tablets to help us know where to brush more.

Rome Today

One of our families was lucky enough to experience a long weekend in Rome to bring our Roman topic to life. They made a Powerpoint presentation to share with us when they returned. Thank you!

Anti-bullying Week

A couple of videos that might help to start a conversation with your child. We have our local PCSO Naomi coming in to talk to us tomorrow. We have also spent a lot of time this term discussing how to keep safe online thinking about cyber-bullying as part of this.

Exercising Different Muscle Groups

In science, we have been learning about what muscles are, how to look after them and some of their names. We took our learning into the hall to exercise each of the muscle groups as we learned about them- it was quite painful to use some of them! The children have been challenged to exercise different muscles at home each night by completing some of today's tasks again. Please see the link to the document for more ideas.

Children in Need Eye Patch Competition

Just a reminder for children to bring in 20p to enter their eye patch into the School Council Competition this Friday. All the eye patches have been made in class and are looking great! They will be used in assembly on Friday for a whole school photo then children will bring them home.

Please help us to support this very worthy cause.

Peterborough Museum

We had a fabulous day pretending to be slaves in the ancient city of Durobrivae today!

First we had to make sure we were prepared for the Governor's party by sorting out the food, clothes and entertainment.

Next we needed to make new pouring tops for the wine amphoras that had been broken off (we have brought these back to school and are on show outside the classroom).

When we had eaten lunch, we returned upstairs in the museum to try to work out what all the broken items were (these were actual Roman artefacts we were handling, almost 2000 years old!).

We have been looking at how to make sure that our bodies get the right nutrition to keep us healthy as we grow up. These adverts have helped us to think about what little changes we can do to help ourselves. Everyone has been challenged to do something this week and feedback next Monday how it has gone. yes
