Today Sara came in from the NSPCC to talk to us about staying safe. We met Buddy who likes all things round, we learnt the Childline number 0800 1111 and we know which trusted adults to approach to be heard. We each received a sticker to help remind us of the important message "Speak Out and Stay Safe".
The children have all had the chance to participate in Show and Tell this term. Over the weeks we have had a vast variety of items brought in. Thank you for your continued support from home.
In PSHE we have been thinking about playtimes and how we can ensure everyone has a happy playtime at school. We created excellent posters that portrayed some very important messages such as 'be nice' 'be safe' 'be happy'.
During Art we have been learning how to shade using pastels. We then created animals from different Continents using World Maps.
We also made tones of blue by adding blue to white and mixing to make gradually darker shades.
This week we have been learning about weight. We have looked at heavy or light, different kinds of weighing scales and also how to record weight. We also solved some weight problems!
Welcome back to school, it sounds like all of Oak Class have had a lovely Christmas holiday!
Our new topic is 'All Creatures Great and Small' and we are turning our role play area into a Vets. If any of the children would like to bring in resources for this area (toy pets, etc) please make sure they are clearly named.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
