Term 4

The Easter Fun Starts!

You will be in for a surprise when we bring our bags home...

Sport Relief

We have done it! We ran a mile (or more) every afternoon this week to help raise money for Sport Relief and our school play equipment. A huge congratulations to everyone who tried their hardest, persevered and managed to run the full mile.

Please could all sponsor money and donations be brought into school next week. Thank you! no

We had a fantastic afternoon polishing our maths knowledge through a theatre production in our school hall. One of the maths areas the actors covered, we are actually doing in class tomorrow! So when we start ordering decimals, the children will be able to reflect back to the performance and show what they have learnt in class!. no

Our Super Racing Decimals Rounding Game- have a go!

START Workshop

We had a fantastic morning using our creativity and team work skills to the max to use different ways of moving and freeze frame work to produce some great pieces to perform to each other. Brilliant!

Super Switches in Science!

We have had a great afternoon investigating switches in our circuits, even making a range of different switches for others to use.

World Book Day

Wow! How amazing the class looked all day today. Well done to everyone for all the effort that has gone into costumes today and a big thank you for all the money that was donated for another fantastic charity.

Fun in the Snow

What a fantastic playtime we had out in the snow! There were snowballs flying everywhere- such good food as the snow was soft and perfect.

**TOMORROW: if there is more snow overnight, we will need resources to make our class snowmen. Carrots, walking stick, scarves, hats, stones for the face, etc.heart

Warm Clothing

Please make sure your child has a winter coat, gloves, scarf and hat this week! Not only do the children go outside at break times but we will also be outside for some of our Maths and Literacy work this week. Thank

It was a great afternoon of electrical circuits! Everyone was busy investigating how to join all the components together to create circuits that would make a bulb light up and a motor work. Some were also investigating what happens when you add a number of different components into one circuit- great curiosity!

Extra Topic Work at Home

It is always great to see the results of children's independent work at home linked to our topic work. We have had a number of Roald Dahl themed Lego creations this term including a huge one by Scarlett before the holidays and the 2 below!

Scene in a Box

The children are so proud of the story scenes they produced last term and really wanted to show them off to an audience so this afternoon we took them to Oak Class to show and explain what we have been doing. Oak class were a fantastic audience and were able to find out about some of the creative techniques that they will develop in Holly Class.

Because space is limited in school, the children will be bringing their boxes home at the end of the week. We would love to keep them on display but we have so many other wonderful things we will be doing this term that require the space.

Poetry Performances

Well done to all the children who wrote a 6-line poem for their homework, there were some super, creative pieces of work produced. noThose who wanted to were able to read them to the class to the delight of everyone. Well done!

Could I please remind parents that support with learning at home and with homework really does benefit the children. We had a number of children who did not complete their homework again.

Don't forget your holiday poems!

We will be using the poems that you have written over the holiday in our first Literacy session on Monday morning so make sure you bring them in.

Mr Mulhern

Mr Mulhern has successfully completed his second school placement and is back with us for the rest of the school year. This term, he will be taking over most of our poetry work in Literacy, teaching PE on a Thursday and continuing with Coding in Computing on Wednesday afternoons.smiley
