Collective Worship - Wednesday 28th March 2018
WOW! What a lovely way to end the term. Well done to Evie and Finley for winning the trophies this term, Sean and Lola won Easter treats in the competition and Evie and Jake won prizes from Nature Club.
Our new school council stood up proud and the school choir performed a song for us. We also sang hymns and, using the crosses we made in RE, we transformed the black cross of Good Friday into the colourful cross of Easter Day.
Have a lovely break Oak class and we look forward to seeing you all in Term 5 on Monday 16th April.
On Friday 23rd March we did out sponsored 'Danceathon' as part of the National Sport Relief Week. 25% of the money raised will go towards Sports Relief and 75% will go towards replacing the trim trail equipment. We danced non-stop for 15 minutes! It was tiring but fun.
On Wednesday 7th March 2018 we celebrated World Book Day. In Oak class we all dressed up as our favourite hero or villain. Don't we look fantastic! Even the staff dressed up to celebrate. Thank you to everyone that donated £1. The money raised will be sent to the World Book Day charity and will go towards sending books to children around the world who need them most.
In Oak Class we have been looking at the seasons. We organised photos into the four seasons and described what we could see in the photos and the clues we spotted. We then went on a Spring walk around the school and found daisies, dandelions, clover, pussy willow, new grass shoots, buds on trees, new leaves growing, catkins, birds in pairs and birds chirping. We also remembered that the order of the seasons never change and the months which are associated with each season stay the same. February is a winter month so towards the end of the month is a good time to look for signs that the season is changing.
Afterwards we all made a Spring spinner to take home.
In Carousel time we have 5 activities going on which are:
Reading with Mrs Barnes
Spag on the ipads
We rotate the groups daily so everyone has a turn at everything.
