Celebration of Music
Throughout the term some children have been having lessons on musical instruments and today, as a special assembly, we listened to some of the music they had learnt. The assembly started with the Choir, who sang beautifully and this was followed by Owen, Laith and Jake individually playing the piano. Next it was Gabrielius playing a tune on the violin, followed by Hannah and Lucy singing 'Somebody to Love'. It was lovely to be able to share in their learning and listen to the music. Well done.

Easter Cracked
Today the children went to 'Easter Cracked' at the Baptist Church in Spalding. When they first arrived they had some squash before going into the church to listen to the Easter Story. The first part of the story was acted out by some church members with Natalia and Josephine acting as Roman Soldiers. The children then watched an animated video showing Jesus on the day of his crucifixion and the last part of the story was narrated. In between the story they sang a 'Rap' song and also had an Easter Egg Hunt.
The children then made an Easter Card with support from the helpers of the activity. It was a most interesting and enjoyable morning and as a treat all the children also received a Cadbury's cream egg.

Start Project
The children in Elm and Holly classes all took part in a workshop at the South Holland Centre, working with a professional dancer and musician. Elm Class children helped compose a melody around a Crocodile in the morning and in the afternoon they helped to choreograph a dance to go with the melody they had written. Both sessions were taxing and the children worked extremely hard. There will be one more opportunity to practise their dance before performing with other schools to parents later in the year.
PGL - 22 March 2019
We were lucky enough to spend an afternoon at PGL. When we got there we were split into two groups in order to participate in some of the activities. One of the fun activities was to complete the obstacle course. Initially we went round the course individually to familiarize ourselves with the equipment and then we went around in teams which ensured we worked well together to ensure everybody finished. It was very muddy!!
Science Week
The children have been looking at recycling during Science Week and how plastic is damaging the environment. Parents were invited in to plant seeds and bulbs with the children using planters made from recyclable plastics. Over the next few weeks the plants will be monitored and the children will check whether their predictions on their growth were correct.
