My name is Helen Terrington and I have been a governor at Weston Hills for just over four years joining as parent governor when my eldest started at Weston Hills and more recently moving into the co-opted Governor role. I was first elected Chair in 2019, a role I take very seriously and have completed the Chair of Governors training programme.
I have a degree in Education and have worked in the education sector for over 15 years, providing services to schools across Lincolnshire, predominantly supporting schools with attendance and behaviour. I currently work for Family Action managing the Behaviour Outreach Support Service across Lincolnshire.
I am passionate about inclusion and am committed to ensuring that our children recieve the best learning experience and education here at Weston Hills.
My name is Sue Simmons and I joined the Governing body in November 2018 and am currently the Vice Chair with responsibility for Safeguarding and E Safety. I have 40 years leadership experience in a variety of business sectors and have spent the last 13 years as a member of the Senior Leadership teams of a large Academy and an Independent School. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. In my spare time I enjoys baking and my garden.
My name is Clive Browne and i joined the governing body at Weston Hills in 2020 as a Foundation Governor. Having started my career in IT back in 1998 I moved to the local area in 2006 and am currently Head of IT for Hovis, responsible for all aspects of IT within the business. Outside of Hovis I am a Church Organist at Dersingham in Norfolk & am also on the Church Council there, as well as being Chairman of Holbeach & Fenland Gymnastics Club. My 20 years business & church experience have given me many skills which I can bring to the Governing body. As well as being a Foundation Governor at Weston Hills I am also currently Chair of Governors at Tydd St Mary Primary and also a Local Leader of Governance for Lincolnshire.
My name is Charles Brown and I joined the governing body at Weston Hills in 2009. I was born and brought up in the U.S.A. I began my working career teaching English in Istanbul, Turkey and then compiling Turkish-English and English-Turkish dictionaries. I came from Turkey to the U.K. to train for the priesthood. For the past twenty-one years I have been a priest in the Church of England serving in South Lincolnshire. I am currently a priest for Crowland, Cowbit, Weston, and Weston Hills.
My name is Sally Wilson. I have been retired for 7 years and have been foundation governor at Weston Hills School for 10 years plus. I am Bishop’s visitor for the school and an Authorised Lay Minister at St John’s Church Weston Hills.
My background, when at work, was working with adults with learning difficulties.
I enjoy looking after my great granddaughter one day a week. I like pottering in the gardening, knitting and organising the family photographs. I am looking forward to coming into school to hear Cherry Class read again.
My name is Janet Bellamy and I was appointed a Governor in 2020. I have worked extensively in Industry in Senior roles and am now Associate Professor of Digitalisation and Food Processing at the University of Lincoln. I teach at Masters level within the University and lead consultancy services to Industry through the UEZ , Glafip and Cotemaco programmes. I have recently completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Education at Lincoln.Away from work I am a Parish Councillor for Weston Parish, Project Manager at Moulton Windmill and I edit the Community Magazine the Elloe Oracle. I am committed to the community I live in and to developing and supporting children and adults through their learning journey to achieve the best that they can be. To develop their curiosity and appetite for lifelong learning and support their overall wellbeing.
My name is Peter Arnfield. I have two children at Weston Hills School. I have been a Parent Governor since late 2019 and am responsible for Finance, Pupil Premium, and Governor Training. I have two older children, one at Secondary school and the other at University. I ran my own professional services company for several years specialising in Business Analysis and IT Project Management; previously I was a Management Consultant for Deloitte.
My name is Laura Hurrell and I am proud to serve as a parent governor at Weston Hills. I have been a senior leader in primary school settings since 2007 and I am currently the Special Needs Co-ordinator, Inclusion Team line manager, Designated Teacher for Children in Care and a Designated Safeguarding Lead in a large primary school in Peterborough.
I am passionate about education and the vital role that schools play in shaping the lives of children and feel honoured to contribute to the ongoing success of Weston Hills C of E Primary School.
Within my role as parent governor, I work with the other members of the School Improvement Committee, Mrs Edgeley and Mrs McKenna in the areas of SEND and Sports Premium funding.
My name is Lynne Faulder and I have been clerk to governors as well as bursar since joining Weston Hills School in September 2019. As clerk I provide administrative and organisational support to the governing body and committees. This includes attending meetings and taking minutes and providing procedural advice.
