Weston Hills C of E Primary School
Class 5 - September 2011 Class 1 - September 2011
Weston Hills Church of England Primary School moved to a new Eco Friendly building in September 2005. Those of us privileged to work in such a happy and caring environment recognise that it is important, not only that our children achieve their academic potential through the delivery of the National Curriculum, but also that they develop their skills and talents in art, music and sport, and their awareness of equality, fairness and a sense of belonging. The aims and vision of our school reflect the way in which we recognise the importance of developing all individuals within the Christian ethos of our school. Every child is encouraged to do their very best and have high standards of social, spiritual and intellectual development.
I believe the children of Weston Hills receive an excellent education which reflects the hard work and dedication of all staff members. Over the years we have achieved numerous awards and standards which include Investors in People status, Basic Skills Quality Mark 10 year Award, National Healthy Schools Standard, Active Mark, International Schools Award, Artsmark Silver Award, Eco Schools Bronze Award, Green Tree Award, and the FMSiS (Financial Management Standard in Schools). Ofsted inspections carried out in 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2010 - all judgements made were good or outstanding.
We were awarded Beacon School Status many years ago, but have continued to work with other local schools in various partnerships, for example, the Lincolnshire South East Schools Sport Partnership. We value our strong links with community organisations, especially St. John's Church.
We work closely with parents to ensure a true partnership is formed between home and school. We were recently awarded the Leading Parent Partnership Award, and value the support we receive from our parents, parents volunteers and our very hard working PTA. Funds raised over the years have purchased many items that enhance our school environment and children's learning - our trim trail, bandstands, play boat and train, outside musical instruments, laptops, staging & lighting, cameras and a new reading scheme are just a few of the many items purchased.
Governors and staff work hard to ensure that all children who are educated at Weston Hills enjoy coming to school and gain an enthusiasm for learning that will continue throughout their lives.
