Boat Making
Today we have been testing materials. We needed to make a boat for the Nighttime Knights to use to get across the moat and avoid the fire breathing dragon guarding the castle! We found that fabric and paper are not waterproof. Tin foil is made of metal and is waterproof and plastic was a suitable material too. We set to work either independently or with a partner to create our boats.
We had lots of fun testing them! We found that some floated but needed edges to stop the water coming over the side. Some of the boats absorbed the water because they were made from cardboard. Some children covered their cardboard with the foil to make it waterproof. There were some excellent ideas and everybody worked hard on their design.
