Term 4

Welcome to Term 4

Wednesday 27th March

Today we had a special Medieval Banquet day in Cherry and Oak Class.

First we all went into Cherry class to find out about the Saints of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  We then split into our House team colours to research one of the four countries before making beautiful banners.

After playtime we made our own shields and crowns and then it was lunchtime. After lunch we went outside to try Archery and Jousting before going into the hall to enjoy our banquet which consisted of welsh cakes, scones, scotch pancakes, sour dough bread plus pretend red and white wine!

We had a fantastic Medieval Banquet day.

Friday 22nd March

Our amazing supply teacher Miss Williams brought her pink guitar into school and taught us a song.  We performed 'Shine' to Miss Parker, Mrs Upsall and all of Holly class.

We sounded fantastic!

On Wednesday 13th March we went to Lincoln with Cherry class.

Before we even got there we were treated to an air display from the Red Arrows practising their formation over our bus!

Once we got to Lincoln we went to the Cathedral were we made animal masks before performing Noah's Ark.  Then we had a very informative tour of the Cathedral.

After this we had lunch and had time to explore the interactive displays in the Cathedral.  We then walked the castle walls and discovered 2 dragons.

After this we got back on the bus and went to Brayford Waterfront to compare the village of Weston Hills to the city of Lincoln.  Finally we had a bus tour of Lincoln with Miss Parker on the microphone telling us lots of facts and information.  The staff at Lincoln Cathedral reported back on how well the children behaved and how well they listened.

Well done Oak Class!

On Thursday 7th March we celebrated World Book Day and we think Oak Class looked the best!

Our topic this term is 'Castles and Cities'.

On Wednesday 13th March we are visiting Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle.  Permission slips and payments need to be in by Monday 8th March please for this trip to be able to go ahead.
