• Harvest Festival

  Collective Worship Council led the school in our Harvest Collective Worship today (21^st October). We sang two of our favourite harvest hymns, Harvest samba and Conkers.

  They talked about how Christians mark this time of year with a harvest festival to thank God for all the crops being safely gathered in. They spoke about the earths gifts, food we eat, water, warmth and light to grow, harvest of the sea and the soil.

  They read part of Psalm 104 that talked of God’s creation.

  They then read a second bible verse that spoke about never being hungry if they believe in Jesus as he is the bread of life. They told us about how many children in the UK and around the world don’t have enough food to eat and that more than 700 million people in the world are hungry.

  We talked about best before dates on food and that Jesus love doesn’t go out of date/

  Mrs Nicholls spoke about what Jesus would have in his lunchbox based on the bible verse and our values. The children came up with some great ideas about what we might find, love, hope, respect, friendship, perseverance, generosity and courage (Our School Values). She said that if we are filled with this qualities/values we become people who take action in the world. By donating the food that the children have we have n]made a start changing things for people.

  The children brought food in for the Spalding Food bank.

  

• UKHSA Red Heat-Health Alert

  A UKHSA Red Heat-Health Alert is currently in force across the region until 23:00 on Friday 26 June.

  As a result, I wanted to communicate with you the actions we are undertaking in school in response to this.

  Keeping indoor environments cool

  • We will be closing blinds on sun‑facing windows during the day
  • Windows will be opened early morning when cooler and then air conditioning units will be available in all classrooms

   

  Adapting the school day

  • We will reduce and reschedule outdoor activities
  • PE lessons will be modified – low-intensity/ indoor activities

   

  Hydration

  • We will ensure children have regular access to drinking water reminding children to drink water frequently
  • Encourage children to refill water bottles regularly- please make sure your child has a drink bottle in school

   

  Clothing and uniform flexibility

  • Our school uniform is already very lightweight, and we do not want to encourage children to wear clothing which covers less of their skin, however if you feel your child’s uniform is too heavy and they would benefit from looser fitting items in a lighter fabric we understand. Please make sure they are not exposed further to the sun.
  • Please consider supplying your child with a sunhat.

   

  1. Protecting from the sun

  • Please apply sunscreen before school, if your child has particularly fair skin and would benefit from an additional application throughout the day, do send them in with additional cream that they can apply themselves.
  • We will utilise shaded areas for breaks and activities and limit time spent in direct sunlight

   

  Supporting vulnerable individuals

  • We will actively monitor pupils at higher risk and ensure individual needs are considered, including care plans where applicable

• Condover - Last Minute Check List

  Last minute checklist

  Bus departs 9:30/ 10 (delete as appropriate).

  Small suitcase/ holdall please as space is limited on the coach.

  £20 spending money in named envelope.

  Medication with consent form (please collect from office) in named envelope- all medicines should be in their original boxes please.

  Backpack for on the bus- packed lunch for eating on bus on Sunday/ card games/ book etc. We will stop for a toilet break on route.

  Drink bottle (for filling up regularly at the drinks stations).

  Swimwear will be needed as will long sleeve top/ leggings/ jogging bottoms for some activities. An old set of clothes (which will get wet) is advisable. Disco clothes will not be needed as all our evening activities are outdoor games based. (If clothes are named it helps to ensure they come home!)

  Sun cream and a hat (we are hoping for good weather)

  Toiletries (we will encourage washing!) but avoid aerosols please as these set of fire extinguishers.

  Please remember no mobile phones or cameras. We will send regular Facebook updates, upload photos onto our school website and have your contact information should we need you.

  The food hall is a buffet style with numerous options (hot and cold) for each of the three meal times- there is plenty to choose from and they can eat as much or as little as they like. Any snacks you choose to send should be kept to a minimum please (especially the sugary, keep you awake all night kind!)

  This February, our Family Hubs are hosting a “Let’s Talk Relationships” Roadshow for all Lincolnshire parents who want to improve how they communicate—whether they are together, separated, or co-parenting.

  This friendly, drop-in event is designed to help parents:

  • Learn how to talk and listen to each other in a calm, blame-free way
  • Discover how strong, positive relationships can make a big difference in their child’s life
  • Explore practical tips for solving problems together—even when they don’t always see eye to eye

  Our Early Years Alliance, Early Years Practitioners, and Team Around the Family Consultants will be on hand to share helpful resources, free online courses, and practical tools that can make a real difference in how families manage disagreements and arguments 

  If you support parents who:

  • Feel overwhelmed by frequent arguments
  • Are stuck in conflict and unsure how to move forward
  • Worry about the impact their relationship is having on their children

  There are 4 different sessions, one in each locality across the week –
