Well done to our two worship council representatives- a great collective worship today with Mrs Nicholls!
Internet Safety Day
Holly Class talked about relationships and bullying when playing games online today. This fitted in well with our recent work about Online Bullying- it is great to know that our knowledge is so good!
Cross Country
Our Year 3/4 team performed with perseverance and enthusiasm at the competition- well done everyone! We are proud of you.
Disclosing Tablets
After discussing why we need to look after our teeth, we gave them a great clean in class!
Our Teeth
To find out more about our teeth, we had a look at each other's! By doing so, we were able to spot the four different types- incisors, canines, pre-molars and molars.
Next week we will be finding out how clean they are by using disclosing tablets- don't forget your toothbrush!
Fractions
Our new unit of work in Maths is all about fractions. We have started by finding out that when a whole is broken into equal parts they are called fractions. Everyone has been able to find fractions of simple shapes and are also looking at fractions of amounts through practical work and problem solving. There is so much to find out!
Coding
Rapid Router is a great programme to help us think about how to use the most efficient coding possible by using the repetition block.
Our Afternoon Act of Kindness
As part of our kindness workshop with 52 Lives, we made cards, pictures and poems to send to a lady called Gladys who will soon be celebrating her 101st birthday! After spending her 100th birthday in lockdown last year, we are trying to help make this one extra special.
The Human Skeleton
How many bones can you name in the body? We have found out about quite a few of the 206 that an adult has.
A very interesting session saw us trying to draw the bones inside our bodies.
What a Day!
We had a fabulous day at Flag Fen finding out more about the Roman invasion of Britain from the point of view of a Roman soldier and the point of view of Boudicca. We were also able to become archaeologists for a session, working out what some real artefacts might have been used for 2000 years ago and who might have owned them, as well as trying our hand at some pottery (which we have brought back to school). Brilliant!
Holly Class staff wish everyone all the best in 2022.
Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
