Geology Rocks!
Today we conducted an investigation into the hardness of rocks. We tested the hardness of various kinds of rocks using different tools. We then had to decide which rock would be the best to use for filling the potholes around Weston Hills!
Digital Literacy- Online Bullying
Our Computing work started strongly today by continuing our school's work on Online Bullying. The children had some great ideas about what to do in some given everyday scenarios, how they can help others being bullied as well as how they can help themselves if they are bullied. The children had a conversation starter flow diagram to help them think about the right think to do to support a friend if they are unsure.
We also looked at other places where they can seek support if necessary including Child Line and The Diana Award. This is a serious subject that benefits hugely from discussions with parents and family as well as in school.
Creating Edible Soil
Our science topic this term is Rocks, Soil and Fossils. To start the topic we looked at the different layers of soil. We even created our own edible soil layers to help us learn and remember them!
