Disco Divas
A huge thank you to the PTA for another great disco!
Disclosing Tablets Fun
Before brushing our teeth, we stained them pink or purple with a disclosing tablet. We know how important it is to brush thoroughly to keep our teeth and gums healthy.
Eggshell Experiment Results
After sitting in the different liquids for a week, we saw the final results today. The most surprising was the effect of the blackcurrant on the shell as it stained and rotted the shell! Coffee stained the shell, orange juice started to rot the outside layer but water had no effect. The vinegar represented food that might get stuck in our teeth and rot if we do not brush our teeth. The egg left in the vinegar gave a shocking result- ask us about it!
Our Final Yoga Session
What a session! We were really pushing ourselves with some tricky stretches then gave our best to some partner trust moves. Great work, Holly Class!
All the Fun of the Christmas Fair
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Christmas Fair. There were some very Christmassy looking people helping us to kick off the festive season in school.
Inspire+ Olympics Swimmer in School!
Olympic swimmer Joe Roebeck gave us an inspirational assembly about perseverance and resilience.
If you try this, please send some photos to Mrs Upsall for our display! Have fun.
Recorder Star
We were very proud of our class member playing recorder in front of the WHOLE school- solo!
Yoga Part 2!
Even more poses and stretches. We are starting to realise that it is not as easy as we thought it would be.
Digital Literacy- Online Reputation
This week, we looked at how people can be portrayed online by other people. We found out that we should not put photos or information about our friends and family without their permission. We must always make sure not to make others look bad as well as making sure we portray ourselves positively.
Dictionary Work
The only way to get quicker using a dictionary is to keep using a dictionary!
Yoga
Ask your child which of the poses we have learnt about this week!
Time Line
To try to understand how long ago the Ancient Egyptian era was, we used a piece of string. We used 1cm to represent a year. Looking at different events as markers through history, we worked our way back. To get back to Egyptian times, we needed to move out onto the school field with a piece of string.... 51m long!! Wow!!
Column Method
We have been using the Base 10 to help us understand how the column method works.
Cross Country
For those children who volunteered for cross country, please remember:
wear PE kit
water bottle
rain proof coat
Welcome Back!
