Term 3

WELCOME TO TERM 3

Friday 11th February 2022

Today we had a real fire engine and four fire fighters called George, Darren, Phil and Nick visit us in school.

George and Darren showed us all of the kit, including the torch, buddy wire, walkie talkie, thermal image camera, motion detector, boots, oxygen tank and helmet.

Phil and Nick showed us around the fire engine and we were even allowed to use the hose to spray water!

It was very exciting and informative! A huge thank you to Spalding Fire Brigade.

Wednesday 9th February 2022 - Desk Drumming

Oak class have been enjoying 'desk drumming' using pool noodles in music today.

We would be VERY grateful if anybody has any old pool noodles that they no longer require, are in good condition and would like to donate them to Oak class.   We can cut them up and let the children have two noodles each for their music.

Thank you in advance.

Wednesday 9th February 2022

Today we made Rocky Road cakes, no bake chocolate cakes, flapjacks, chocolate and marshmallow cookies and fairy cakes.  A huge thank you to everyone that donated ingredients and to Mrs Pateman for coming in to help.

We loved baking and cannot wait to see what other goodies are up for sale at the Cake and Bake Sale tomorrow afternoon at the end of the school day!

Tuesday 8th February 2022

Today we were all very excited to explore the climbing frame in the school hall during our gymnastics lesson!  Some of us were apprehensive beforehand, but the whole class went up the wall bars at some point.  I am very proud of these wonderful children.

Friday 4th February 2022

In Art we used sketching pencils and oil pastels to create shading, using adjacent colours of the rainbow to guide us.

Friday 28th January 2022

Today we tested out our boats and they all floated!  We are all so proud!

Friday 21st January 2022

Last week in Science we designed boats that we thought would float on water.  Today we made out boats by using lots of different resources and different methods of attaching them.  A few of us managed to work as a team to create one boat.  We can't wait to test them out during our next Science lesson!

This term our topic is 'The Great Fire of London 1666.

We have learned about how and where the fire started and have looked at maps, time lines and even acted it out!

Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
