Welcome to Term 5

On Tuesday 14th May Lee from Captivating Creatures brought in some amazing visitors to show us.

We met:

  • Trevor the 9 year old Hermans Tortoise.
  • Midnight the 2 1/2 year old Skinnypig
  • Tongo the 3 year old Bearded Dragon
  • Marley the old Giant African Train Millipede
  • Nipper the 6 year old Asian Forest Scorpion
  • Cleopatra the 9 year Corn Snake
  • Pandora the 4 year old Royal Python
  • Boris the 23 year old Tarantula
  • Button the 4 year old Chinchilla who had a sand bath
  • Mr Sticky the Vietnamese Stick Insect

It was amazing and the children had the best time ever!

Wednesday 8th May 2024

Please could all parents make sure that their child in Oak class has a named drinks bottle in school every day.  Being dehydrated negatively affects your child's cognitive function, visual attention and motor skills.

Regular drinking helps to starve off fatigue, headaches, feeling nauseous, help maintain their body temperature and making bodily fluids.

Most of your child's body is made up of water!

On Wednesday 24th April we explored  poems written by Julia Donaldson.  We will be using these to help us write our own poems in the coming weeks.

Welcome back to Term 5.    We hope you all had a lovely Easter break.

On Wednesday 17th April we walked, with Mrs Nicholls, to St Johns Church.  We looked at the font, the pulpit, the organ, the lectern, the altar, the stained glass windows, the candles, the crosses, the roof and the pews.

PE will be on Thursday each week this term so please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school that day on their peg ready.

Swimming will be on a Friday this term so please do not let your child wear tights and make sure all clothes are named.  Girls need to have their hair tied back and a swimming costume.  Boys need to have small speedo style trunks not baggy ones.

Children will require 1 named bag containing their swimwear and a towel.  Swimming hats, goggles and a hairbrush are also allowed.

Swimming will be £2.50 per week or £15 for the term as this is the cost towards the coach.  Swimming lessons are paid for by the school.

As the weather is very hit and miss at the moment, please send children into school with a coat and a named water bottle.

Mr Sharman is now back and will be arranging Parents evening for as soon as possible.  Mrs Smith will send out the details shortly.

Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
