INSTRUMENT OF GOVERNMENT
THE TYDD ST MARY & WESTON HILLS CHURCH SCHOOLS FEDERATION
The name of the federation is The Tydd St Mary & Weston Hills Church Schools Federation.
2. The names and categories of the schools in the federation are:

3. The name of the governing body is “The governing body of The Tydd St Mary & Weston Hills Church Schools Federation”.
4. The governing body shall consist of the following:

5. Total number of governors is 12.
6. The Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education is entitled to appoint one ex-officio foundation governor.
The Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education, after consultation with Parochial Church Council, or if appropriate the Village Church Council or District Church Council, of the parish in which the schools are situated, being people who are fit and willing to support the Anglican ethos, values and aims of the school and be people of faith is entitled to appoint 6 foundation governors.
7. (a) The holder of the following office shall be a foundation governor ex-officio:
The Principal Officiating Minister (i.e. the incumbent or priest in charge of the parish in which the schools are situated
or a team vicar with a special cure of souls for the area in which the schools are situated).
(b) The Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry in which the schools are situated after consultation with the Rural Dean of the Deanery in which the schools are situated shall be entitled to appoint a foundation governor to act in the place of the ex officio foundation governor whose governorship derives from the office named in (a) above, in the event that that ex-officio foundation governor is unable or unwilling to act as a foundation governor or has been removed from office under regulation 21(1) of the Constitution Regulations.
8. The Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry in which the schools are situated, after consultation with the Rural Dean with
oversight for the parish in which the schools are situated is entitled to request the removal of any ex-officio foundation governor and appoint a substitute governor.
9. Recognising its historic foundation, each school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the
principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and Diocesan level.
Each school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. Each school will encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promote Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
10. This instrument of government comes into effect 6th September 2021.
11. This instrument was made by order of Lincolnshire Local Authority on the 16th day of July 2021.
12. A copy of the instrument must be supplied to every member of the governor body (and the head teacher if not a
governor), any trustees and to the appropriate religious body.
