Term 1

On Friday 20th October we celebrated 'Funky Friday'.  Well done to all of Oak class, you all looked amazing!

On Wednesday 13th October we put our coats on, went outside into the rain and created some action painting like Jackson Pollock.  We made some beautiful colours and amazing artwork, plus we had lots of fun in the process!

On Wednesday 4th October Paralympian Johnathan Broom-Edwards joined us from Inspire+ to teach us about adversity.  We warmed up, guided our friends along a track blindfolded, threw a bean bag behind us whilst sitting on a chair, tried to catch bean bags with one hand whilst the other hand was behind our back and we tried to bunny hop to cones and then we finally cooled down.  We had a little glimpse into some of the struggles that Paralympians have to overcome and it was very enlightening.

On Friday 22nd September the children from Holly and Willow class came into Oak class to give us their presentation on the 'History of Spalding'.

Holly and Willow class went on a school trip to Spalding on Wednesday and today they were able to tell us everything that they had learned.  We found the presentations very interesting and we all learned some new information!

Spellings and Reading

Reading books are sent home on a Thursday.  Please listen to your child read and then write a note in the reading diary to let us know how they got on.  Reading books and diaries need to come back in to school every Monday.

Spelling books are sent home on a Friday.  Your child will need to look at a word, cover the word up, write the word and then check the word is spelt correctly.  this should be done 5 times before the spelling test on a Friday.  All spelling books need to be back in every Friday.

September 2023

Welcome back!

We are a class of 26 Wonderful children, Mr Sharman is our class teacher and Mrs Stanley is our class teaching assistant.  We also have additional support from Miss Wantling.  PPA will be covered by Mrs Nicholls on a Wednesday afternoon and PE should be on a Monday and a Thursday afternoon, however, please make sure your child has indoor and outdoor PE kit in a bag all week on their peg as this can easily change.

This term's topic is 'Where We Live'.  In Maths we are looking at place value and in English we are looking at labels, lists, and captions.

It is very warm in school so please ensure that your child has a named water bottle and hat with them every day.

Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
