Term 3 Topic- Set in Stone
We started looking at our new topic- The Stone Age.
In maths, we are learning about measurements. The children used the appropriate equipment to calculate the length of items in the classroom. Using rulers, metre sticks and trundle wheels. They all had brilliant prior knowledge of all different ways we can measure things.
Creating our Stone Age Boy drama performances...
In Science, we were investing the effects of gravity on different sized objects.
We showed our drama performances to the rest of the class... they were brilliant!
Willow Class used post it notes to create their own shapes and calculate the area. We all participated in a mini competition to estimate the area of one of the tables.
Volleyball session with Sport2Day
Willow Class made their own boats, to look at the effects of water resistance. The children had a boat race to see whos came out the best.
Miss Rawlings introduced fractions using a bar of chocolate and biscuits... of course we enjoyed a yummy treat at the end.
