Term 4

Monday 17th March - Woodside Animal & Falconry Park

Today we went on a school trip to Woodside Animal and Falconry Park in Lincoln.  Zoo keeper Johnny guided us around the zoo and told us all about the different animals that they have there.

We met meerkats, arctic wolves, stalks, spider monkeys, penguins, seals, red pandas, tigers, ring-tailed lemurs and we even got to stroke a blue tongued skink.

Johnny said we were the best group of children he had ever shown around!

Wednesday 12th March

Today in school we had a visit from ACT II Theatre Company.  We entered 'World Book Land' and went on a very exciting adventure.  Charlotte was our tour guide and we visited all four book stations.

Book Station 1 was 'Where's Wally' by Martin Handford.  We had to search the hall to each find a Wally.

Book Station 2 was 'Oi Frog' by Kes Gray.  We had to find the right things for the animals to sit on.

Book Station 3 was 'The Squirrel Who Squabbled' by Rachel Bright.  We had a wild nutty race!

Book Station 4 was 'The Giant Jam Sandwich' by John Vernon Lord.  We made banana, orange, carrot, watermelon and pancake shapes with our bodies.  We then worked as a class to make spaghetti bolognese!

We loved Book Land and hope to visit it again one day.

Welcome back to Term 4

Well done to everyone that made a half term project for the extended home study.  It was obvious just how much time, thought and effort had gone into each and everyone of them, so THANK YOU!

All the projects were amazing and it was lovely and it was lovely to put them on display in the hall for everyone to see.

Our topic this term is 'Wild Weather'.

We will be going swimming on a Friday morning each week this term and every child must wear a swimming hat!

Thursday 6th March is World Book Day - we are NOT dressing up this year but please let your child bring in an old book to exchange for a new book.

Wednesday 17th March is our school trip to 'Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park.  Permission slips and the contribution of £16 needs to be handed in to the school office by March 1st.

Thursday 27th March is Mothers Day Wrap - presents cost £3 each and if you would like your child to take part, complete the form that has previously been sent home and sent it in, along with the relevant monies, in a named envelope to the school office by Monday 24th March.

Term 4 ends on Friday 4th April.

Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
