Our first two days were busy getting to know each other, deciding on our class rules and setting the scene for the coming term.
Description
We use the collected conkers to start our description work before starting to look at the two different pumpkins.
Pumpkins
A HUGE thank you to Jaxx's Grandad who sent in lots of different pumpkins. We straight away got to work describing them using a range of strong adjectives/expanded noun phrases before slicing them open to compare the inside with the outside.
PE- Fundamentals
Our first PE unit to to cover/recap/strengthen our fundamental skills such as balance, running, catching, throwing, etc, all to develop our core strength. Emilia was busy today taking LOTS of photos.
Pumpkin Problems!
On Monday morning, we were amazed (and disgusted) at what had happened to the pumpkins that had been cut open last week! Luckily, Miss Woolf brought us some more from the Moulton Show.
Base 10 Skills
Year 2s have continued to impress with how quickly they have got use to understanding and partitioning 2digit numbers using Base 10.

Tuned Percussion
Today we needed to work out the melody for Tony Chestnut using the lovely new xylophones. It was not as easy as we thought it would be! No recording this week but come back next week to see how we have progressed...!
Parents/Carers in Class
A huge thank you to everyone who is coming in to do reading tasks with us this term. We love you being here!
Blue Bots
Today we have designed our own maps using our own chosen theme then directed Blue Bot around it visiting two places. To challenge ourselves, we added cones to get in his way.
Flag Football
You are...GOLD! Well done Year 3 and 4 on your first Sport2Day competition win of the year.
Making Pumpkin Soup and Bread
Everyone joined in together to make both the soup and bread in the morning. In the afternoon, we all had the opportunity to taste both (delicious!).
Tractor Visit
End of Term Science Assessment Work
We chose different exercises to investigate with a partner, did them then looked at the effects on our bodies.
Drone Visit
Chris from CA Drone Media was so kind to visit us this afternoon with his drone to show off its capabilities and take some film/photos of us (to follow!)
Chris from CA_Dronemedia has kindly allowed us to share the video footage he took of us whilst demonstrating what his drone can do. Thank you!
One of our Dads sent in the smallest dron for us to have a look at this afternoon. Wow!
