This Year's Production- Go For Gold!
This term we will be looking at:
Reply From the Government!
Last term, the class sent letters to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, in which they expressed their opinion son single-use plastic and its impact on polluting the environment. We received a response, which was complimentary to the children's work, and addressed their concerns. Please have a read:
Half-Term Projects (Blue Planet)
Well done to Daniella, Keiran, Joseph and Ivy for making brilliant projects during the half term- some focused on the impact of pollution, and others focused on the treatment of marine animals in aqauariums.
Computing- Microbits (Lesson 1 and 2)
Just Yr5s (Yr6s were on a trip) managed to create a name badge and a 'beating heart' then had a play with the microbits, including making melodies.
Sport2Day- Ultimate Frisbee
The children really enjoyed playing Ultimate Frisbee and picked up the moves and strategy really well.
Computing- Microbits (Lessons 3 and 5)
Both year groups easily managed to code emotion badges and light-sensitive nightlights.
Science- Shadows
We have been looking at light and how shadows change throughout the day, due to the movement of the Earth in relation to the Sun. We drew and measured the outline of our shadows at 9:30, 11:30 and 1:30pm.
Science- Our Solar System
We have looked at the planets in our Solar System, specifically how they orbit the Sun and take different lengths of time. This is because of the distance they each are form the Sun, therefore have to travelling through a larger orbit.
How to remember the planets? My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming (Planets) = Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune (Planets).
