Welcome back and Happy New Year!
This term we will be looking at:
- Maths- Fractions (Yr5), Fractions, Ratio and Measurement (Yr6)
- English- Short writes, Persuasive leaflets, Letters and Instruction Texts.
- Topic- The Arctic and Antarctica.
- Science- Electricity
- Computing- Coding using Crumbles.
- French- Celebrations and Festivals.
- Art- Changing Landscapes.
- PE (still Wednesday and Thursday)- Dance and Gymnastics.
Maths- Fractions!
Both Year 5 and Year 6 have been working on fractions in Maths. Whilst Year 5 have been comparing, converting, adding and subtracting fractions, Year 6 have been multiplying, dividing, finding a fraction of an amount, and finding the whole! Both groups have worked extremely hard so far this term.

Computing- Crumbles
After a tricky first lesson with the Crumbles, we had more success during the second lesson. We have been able to code the crumble to 'sparkle' different colours for different lengths of time, and eventually added a code to make a motor work simultaneously with the 'sparkle'.
