PE (still Wednesday and Thursday)- Athletics and OAA.
A Call with Matt Goodfellow
We really enjoyed hearing from poet Matt Goodfellow, whose book (The Final Year) we studied this year, read and discuss his work. We were also extremely lucky to have our question, 'Can you rap for us?' asked, despite not getting the answer we wanted. The cheers and excitement from the children made it better though!

Art- Exploring Nature
We have been looking at using natural resources in our work, as well as focusing on the work of Mary Somerville. We gathered different plants and squashed them in our books, in which their colours were transferred onto paper. We will continue to make our anthotype prints.
Maths Revision- Treasure Hunt
As a fun alternative to revision for SATs and NFERs, the children completed a treasure hunt. They had to solve each maths problem followed by solving a riddle, before finding the next question. After 15 maths questions and riddles, our winners were Amy, Amber and Olivia!
SATs Week!!!
What better way to burn some nervous energy than football and photoshoots? The children loved their extra playtime and toast- maybe not the same thoughts towards their SATs! The Year 6s were absolutely fantastic during their assessments, and Miss Woolf is so proud of them!
Computing- Designing Games
This term, we have been looking at designing and creating games on Scratch. We have been focusing particularly on variables (eg, points, scores and timers) and making games more challenging.
PE- Climbing Frame Surprise!!!
As a treat for all of their hard work this week (and the sudden hail and rain!), Elm Class were rewarded with the climbing frame coming out! The children shared the climbing frame, along with the crash mat and gymnastic equipment to just have fun!
English- Discussion Text
Our second unit of writing this term is a discussion text- Are Aquariums Good?
We have looked at the features of a discussion text, and supporting and opposing points on aquariums.
Keiran- aka Mr Motivator- ready to encourage others during the class marathon.
Science- Classifying Animals
To finish off our unit on classification, we looked at how to classify animals. We began by sorting animals into vertebrates and invertebrates, then thought of different questions to keep sorting the animals.
Elm vs Willow Kick Rounders
As an end of term treat, Elm and William teamed up for an afternoon of rounders. We started with a mini tournament of Yr4 vs Yr5 vs Yr6, then ended with Willow vs Elm (Elm won- hurray!)
Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
