Science
We have been undertaking experiments for the different forces we have been learning about, gravity and water resistance. We ensured we always made our tests fair and had a lot of fun seeing which plasticine shape would fall through water the quickest!
English
We have started looking at Matt Goodfellow and his poetry collection this week, performing some poems of his in front of the class. This took a lot of confidence, and we are so proud of ourselves for giving it a shot, especially independently! Please watch some videos above of our incredible recitals. Enjoy!
Art
We have been studying the artist EMELBI throughout our term so far! We tried out creating our self portraits and layering different effects over our drawings, using ink, printing techniques and fineliners!
We then moved onto creating self-portraiture collages inspired by David Hockney with some very fun results!
Typing Club
In Willow, we have begun using Typing Club as a fun way to practise our touch-typing skills, a skill I believe important for the world we live in now. Here is the link for children to logon https://weston-hills-willow.edclub.com and your child’s logon details are in the front of their planner. This is not an expectation to be completed at home, more just for fun, as we will practise in class.
TTRockstars
Children should be practising their times tables as often as they can, both in school and at home! This will help them with their maths learning as well as preparing the Year 4's for the Multiplication Check in June. Your child’s logon details are in the front of their planner.
English
We have been planning a narrative based on a time-slip to the Stone Age and designed our characters thinking about the differences we would see between a modern-day child and a Stone Age child. Here are a few of the children's ideas!
RE
With Mrs Nicholls, we have been using our Conscience Corridor to debate whether or not we should support the England football team in the World Cup.
