Welcome back to Term 3 and 2026.
First off can we start by thanking everyone for all the lovely Christmas cards and presents, we really do appreciate them.
This term out topic is 'Dinosaur Roar!'
Reading - being read to and sharing books at home allows you to share magical moments with your child.
Your child has a home-school reading diary for you to record how often your child reads, what they are reading and any difficulties they had with their reading. We would like children to read for at least 5 minutes every day. School books go home on a Thursday and are to be returned to school on the following Monday, but you can also ready any books from home as well.
Please send back any school books you have at home so that the next group of children can enjoy them too!
Maths - your child is learning number bonds to 10 at school. This is crucial because it builds the foundation for all future maths. Please continue to learn these off by heart at home. This is as easy as asking your child which number goes with 5 to make 10? Which number goes with 7 to make 10? etc.
This can be done in the car, around the dinner table and even in the supermarket, anywhere, anytime.
