Term 4

Visit to Bookland

Charlotte, from Act II, joined us for the day so that every class could visit ‘Bookland’. While we were there, we shared stories and took part in activities linked to each one. Cherry class started with the fabulous book ‘Oi Frog’ and then had to help sort the animals out onto the things they could sit on (all linked to rhyming words), then we made our own music on the big piano (linked to the story ‘The Bear and the Piano’), then we dressed up Octavia, Niamh, Louis and Reuben as the scarecrows from ‘The Scarecrows’s Wedding’ and finally read ‘The Giant Jam Sandwich’ and tried to make different shapes with our bodies for different kinds of foods. It was lots of fun and we look forward to Act II joining us again next term for a Jack and the Beanstalk themed morning.

Year 1 poetry

Today the year ones worked as a team to create a poem inspired by the illustration from the book we are studying in English. They used the pattern of a Michael Rosen poem to help them but made it all about the crow and the polar bear. They read it together.
Our core Christian School Values are: FAITH, HOPE & LOVE This year we will explore the core values through: Hope, Perseverance, Generosity, Respect, Courage and Friendship.
