Castles, Cities and Cathedrals
Our topic this term links well with work we covered about Lincoln Castle when we were in Cherry/Oak class. We are using this knowledge to extend our learning about why castles are found all over the UK is various states of ruin- who built them? When?
We will also be looking at how ancient many of our cities are and when/why cathedrals were built.
Our science is all about what makes something alive, habitats, food chains and the human skeleton.
In English, we are embedding our good features of writing before looking at the writing of Joseph Coelho- we have already started reading his book Zombierella.
As the term get warmer, we hope to get out as much as possible in all areas of the curriculum, especially to practise our archery skills and investigate where we can find woodlice in our school grounds.
Not long to Easter!
Dividing large numbers using Base 10 and numbers with remainders this week
First we used place value counters for the larger numbers then we used lolly sticks to investigate remainders.

Our Church Visit
We visited the local church to get to know it a little better before we visit Peterborough Cathedral in May. We laid on the floor to appreciate the structure of the ceiling. We have been looking at Lincoln Cathedral this term and the importance of religion in Medieval times, comparing it to our modern day experiences of going to church.
Woodlice Investigation
Which habitat do woodlice like best? We discovered that it is damp and dark areas.
Science Week
We Zoomed with an actual worker from Google who designs phones! We found out lots about the skills needed for this job.
Parents Maths in Class
For the past two weeks, we have been investigating mathematical statements with our parents/carers in class, proving if they were always true, sometimes true or never true. We followed this work up in class on Thursday.
Science Week- Who Stole Mog?
In our quest to find Mog, we carried out chromatography on the note that was left behind and learnt how to use fingerprints to find out who had left theirs at the crime scene.
Through our research using these scientific methods used by the police in their forensics departments, we discovered that it was...Miss Parker!
